FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. - William Thomas 'Tommy' Bowry, 45, died Oct. 22, surrounded by his family. He was born in Charlotte, N.C., in 1966. He has been a Florida resident since 1988.
Tommy was preceded in death by his father, William Thomas Bowry Sr.; and his good buddy JD.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Charlotte Bowry Vaughan and Douglas Vaughan; his brother, Matthew Bowry; his wife, Adriana; and his two daughters, Isabella and Jasmine. He is also survived by his uncle, James and aunt, Millie Bowry of Williamsburg, his uncle, Lee and aunt, Anne Rawls of Florida and his uncle, Tom and aunt, Jean Rawls of Yorktown. Uncle, Lee and aunt, Anne were like second parents to him, and visiting them each summer is where he fell in love with Florida and the water.
Tommy graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in finance from the Mcintire School of Commerce. He was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Miller Howard Investments, Inc. and the Southeast Regional Director. Prior to joining them, he spent seven years with Blackrock as a Director and four years with Pimco and Nicolas Applegate as a Regional Vice president for the Southeastern United States. He also received the CIMA designation bestowed by the Wharton School of Business.
Tommy was most happy near or on the water, fishing, boating, scuba diving or relaxing on the beach with family and friends. His friends said he was always smiling and would do anything for you. He was very loved by everyone and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
There was a memorial service held on Oct. 26, on the beach in Fort Lauderdale.

This is such a great picture of Tommy! The smile I have seen many times...I have been thinking about the great times with him from elementary school all the way through college. I am so sorry for the loss of such a good friend and good man.
