Leroy Olivier
ARNAUDVILLE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Leroy Olivier, 83, who passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 12 noon until 10 p.m. on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 11 a.m., at Pellerin Funeral Home in Arnaudville. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Fr. Keenan Brown will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Rachel Olivier Kester and Regina T. Pitre. Gift Bearers will be Jenni Olivier and Lou Ella Taylor. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery.
Mr. Olivier honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Courtableau Wildlife Hunting Club. According to his family, he could fix anything - he was skilled in woodworking and enjoyed farming and hunting. His most treasured times were those spent with his wife, Velma, and his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Velma "Sis" Stelly Olivier; two sons, Wesley S. Olivier and Randal J. (Marla L.) Olivier; his daughter, Angela M. Olivier; his brother, Louis (Lena T.) Olivier; his sister-in-law, Earline O. Olivier, all of Arnaudville; four grandchildren, Steve B. (Tiffany M.) Olivier of Youngsville, Jeremy W. (Amanda) Olivier of Houston, TX, Jenni L. Olivier of Opelousas, and Adam M. Olivier of Arnaudville; two great-grandchildren, Gabriel S. Olivier and Lane P. Olivier, both of Youngsville.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roselus and Bertha Bergeron Olivier; and his brother, Harris Olivier.
Pallbearers will be, Randal J. Olivier, Wesley S. Olivier, Adam M. Olivier, Steve B. Olivier, Jeremy W. Olivier, and Ryan P. Olivier.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tyler Kidder and Louis Olivier.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville is in charge of arrangements.
