KEMP, Jean Jones Jean Jones Kemp went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2019 while participating in her favorite pass time, Bingo. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 63 years, Maury Page Kemp, her children Diane Morrison (Mike) and Maury Page Kemp Jr. (Buddy), as well as four grandchildren Melissa Severson (Tim), Michael Maresca (Marqui), Page Kemp, and Morgan Kemp, their great granddaughter Molly Severson, and her brother Roland Jones Jr (Joyce). She also leaves an artfully decorated legacy of service to countless organizations in art, business, education, and social circles. She served on the boards of Dallas Museum of Art, Junior League of Dallas, Turtle Creek Association and was a member of The Church of the Incarnation and Park City Club in Dallas. Jean was born May, 9 1930 in Dallas TX. Her childhood years where spent in Abilene, TX with her brother Roland Jones Jr., and her parents Roland and Christine Jones. In her teenage years her family moved to Dallas where she attended The Hockaday School and graduated from Highland Park High School. She studied at SMU and later completed her degree with a BS in Law from Denver University. Jean married Maury in 1956 and moved to El Paso, TX, where her legacy of service began in a multitude of organizations. Then in the early 70's they purchased a second home in Rancho Mirage, CA, where they wintered, building life long friendships and engaging in community service. Jean and Maury traveled extensively around the world and truly enjoyed life to the fullest. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019, 10:00 AM in Chapel East at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, Dallas, Texas.
