General Murray was a character throughout my life and made a big impact on our family. I always loved hearing about my parents' days with Dick and Jan in Torrejon and remember fondly getting out of the Bicentennial traffic at Williamsburg thanks to General Murray jumping out of the car and directing traffic (until we got to the intersection and he hopped back in to our moving vehicle). The world is a little darker without him in it. Love to Jan and family.

Gen Murray was a remarkable man. As Commander of the Army and Air Force Exchange Service he lead with enthusiasm that filtered down to the thousands of associates...and ultimately to the military community. On behalf of the North Texas Chaptet of the AAFES Reitired Employees Association. I pass condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace

Jan and family, my sincere condolences on the passing of Dick. As a member of ALA's BOD's for 11 years and past chairman it my pleasure to get to know him very well. He was a gentle giant who loved his family, and did all he could to protect the benefits for our military men and women. My prayers are with you at this time. Mickey (ALA Chairman 1996)
