Carl HOYNG Obituary

HOYNG, Dr. Carl F. Age 71 of Englewood, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018. Carl was a longtime member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. Carl was a founding member of Providence Medical Group and was most recently the Director of the Clinical Lab for 13 years. Carl was a Family Practice Physician with his own Practice in North Dayton from 1985 until 2014 and was on staff at Kettering and Grandview Hospital. He graduated from the Ohio State University with a BS in Zoology in 1969, he received his MT (ASCP) Med. Tech Certification from Christ Hospital in 1972, graduated the University of Dayton with his MS in Clinical Microbiology in 1974, and West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine for his Doctorate in 1984 as well. Carl then completed his 1 year internship at Grandview Hospital. Carl was a member of the Dayton District Academy of Osteopathic Medicine. Carl enjoyed golfing at the Meadowbrook Country Club, bowling, traveling and was very passionate about photography. He was a big fan of the Bengals, the Dayton Flyers and most of all the Ohio State Buckeyes. Carl loved his family and adored his grandsons. The family would like to thank Dr. John Haluschak and the nurses at Kettering Cancer Center, the Kettering Health Network and Hospice of Dayton for their loving care and compassion for Carl. The family would also like to thank his nurses, office staff and former practice partners for the many years of friendship. He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Vicki (Goffos) Hoyng, children: Jill (Shaun) Miller, Christopher (fianc? Tarah Andrews) Hoyng, siblings: Mary Ann (Gene) Reichert, John Hoyng, Rita (Gary) Haliena, sister-in-law: Linda Hoyng, brother-in-law: Edward "Butch" (Lynn) Goffos, grandsons: Samuel, Benjamin, and Elliott, also many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Carolyn "Carrie" (Boeke) Hoyng, brother: Mark Hoyng. Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Precious Blood Catholic Church (4961 Salem Ave., Dayton) with Father Timothy Knepper C.PP.S. as celebrant. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and Hospice of Dayton. I remember Carl well at WVSOM and saw him at CMEs and other events over the years. He was a wonderful person and excellent representative of the Osteopathic profession and WVSOM. So sorry to hear the news of Dr Hoyng's passing. He was such a kind and smart man and I'm so happy to have had the pleasure of having him as my doctor for so many years. I'm yet to find any doctor that will compare .. Miss you, Dr Hoyng. My deepest condolences to his family. Rest In Peace, Dr Hoyng and thank you.
