May the God of all comfort sustain your family during the days ahead Psalms 119:76
June 20, 2019
I would first like to send my most sincere condolences to Elvin's wife, Arzella and then all the remaining family members as well. I wish that could be there in support on my dear friend. You see, I last spoke to Elvin during the passing of our dear friend George Strong to which he couldn't be there. Although he wasn't there in person, he was there in spirit. Our history goes back to when we both graduated from high school, he from Stephen Decatur and I from St. Teresa. Although we were rivals on the basketball court, we were still friends and it's always remained that way. Not only was George Strong our friend, but there was also his teammate Lloyd Johnson. Now, with the passing of Elvin, it only leaves Lloyd and I to carry on from our era of the late fifties ('59). Although Elvin and I took different paths in our life's, I can see where he has succeeded in the reading of his obituary. Although I can't be there to support my friend in his going home, it does give me great pleasure to have had him in my life as a true friend.
