GARRETT, Garry Douglas 60, of Springfield, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, February 24, 2018. He was born on August 6, 1957, in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Howard Garrett and Shirley Baer Girton. Garry was employed at Horner Electric Industries, a proud veteran serving in the United States Army and also a member of the VFW #8673. He loved riding his Harley, and enjoyed anything that involved being outdoors including hunting, swimming and boating. Watching Nascar, football and baseball were favorite past times of Garry's but nothing was more important to him than spending time with his family. Garry is survived by his parents, Howard (Joan) Garrett and Shirley Baer Girton; beloved wife of almost 30 years, Pam (Miller) Garrett; daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Chris O'Brien; grandchildren, Haley and Savanna O'Brien; brothers, Butch (Carol) Baer and Mark (Karen) Ross; sister, Kitty (Jay) Freidman; uncle and aunt, Lawrence and Donna Wilson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Garry is preceded in death by his brothers, David Garrett, John Baer and David (Cathy) Ross; aunt and uncle, Judy and Ron Wilson; and great aunt, Julia Worthen. Garry's family would like to give a special thank you to their Pastor, Dwight McCormick for being a huge blessing to him and his family during Garry's transition and for all of the love and support he offered in their time of need. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 3p.m. at the VFW Post 8673, 2825 E. Leffel Ln. Springfield. Arrangements in care of JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS LIFE CELEBRATION CENTER.
