It's been a very long year without you, yet a short year- because I still cannot believe you are gone. I hear you in words people say and see you in expressions. I want to hug you, to see you, to talk to you, to ask your advice, to laugh with you, to tell you how much I love you and how great of a mom you are... I'm so glad you are my mom. I miss you so much! I selfishly want you back, but loving you... I'm glad you are home. I love you, Momma! I love you so very much. Meow meow meow

I cannot think of all the words to describe my feelings for Rolla. We had so much fun working for the Historical Society. When I couldn't depend on anyone else she was always there to help me. That Sunday I saw her as we were leaving church at about 12:12 pm. She asked me how I was and how my husband was. I then asked her how she was and she stammered "I'm ok. I then asked her "just ok". and she replied "I'm ok. Then we went out the door and I didn't see her, I looked and couldn't find her. My daughter-in-law sent me a message on Wednesday and told me about her. I was touched so much by her and her vitality, humor, and just genuine friendship. I cared about her so much.
I promised her granddaughters that I would try to find some pictures I took of her and them and other children for the Historical Society. I have a couple of thousand pictures to look thru. When I find them, I will get them to Tonya. It might take a week or so, but will try to find them.
So sorry for your loss of such a wonderful relative.

We were so blessed to have Rolla reconnect with the members of the graduating class of 1961 from Farmersville High School. It was such a joy to have her join the June Lunch Bunch every year. She shared so much of her joy for life, love for family, and memories with us. We will truly miss her. May her love, peace, and gratitude for life fill each of your hearts.

Dear Vilena, Tonya, Angie & families,
Words cannot express how sad I was to hear the news of Rolla passing. A true beautiful light has left this world. I remember the days when Vilena & I were in Girl Scouts together & our moms were the leaders... Laughter, love & fun always. Sending love & prayers to you all

I will miss the many conversations Rolla and I had about family and life in general. She was always encouraging of anything I was getting myself into. She brought laughter and joy to my life and I'm sure anyone else who has ever come in contact with her! Her spirit was that of someone half her age Lol
Love you Rolla

Our friend Rolla will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was a big part of our early plans for the Memorial Day events. She and her daughters were there to help us decorate the Baum for our Memorial Day Dance and was always there to lend a hand. She also always helped me with the refreshments for the monthly Historical Society general meetings..The only thing she didn't want to do was cut the cherry cheesecakes that Joe Stanton always made for the refreshment portion of the meeting.. She said "I can't cut the pieces straight!" I cut them but we laughed as mine weren't straight either. She was always glad to help and Randy and I really appreciated everything she did. We all will miss her terribly. Please know you have our thoughts and prayers as you move forward at this difficult time. We are still in Florida and will not be home in time for her services but we will be thinking of her family and friends.
With deepest sympathy,
Randy and Melanie Staley

Rolla brought so much joy to my life. Her laughter brought the sun back out on rainy days, her wisdom kept my boat sailing through storms, her selfless way of caring for others first humbled a young soul like mine. We shared family stories, trials, tribulations, and fears. We spent many days reminiscing on how proud she was of her daughters, their spouses, and grandchildren. How deeply she loved everything about them, how proud she was of their accomplishments, and all the things she still longed to do for them. Watching her eyes light up when telling me each detail, the chuckles in between, even the little snacks we shared during our daily time together always were the best parts of my day. I long to hear Good Morning Neighbor from that ever so calming voice. To have met such a beautiful person was more than a blessing to everyone around. Loving Rolla was so easy because she loved you back so much more. Forver in my heart, engraved in my soul is My Rolla, My Neighbor, My Forever Friend!

Rolla will be missed. There was always laughter and fun when she was around. Never forget hooking the pony to the cart and going down in the field. The Cart broke down. Rolla laughed and joked over it. She could put a smile on my face no matter how bad things were. Loved her so much. She raised 3 beautiful loving daughters. Prayers for all of you.
