WYANT (Mathis), Gladys Marie 93, passed away February 17, 2018. Born in Akron, Gladys retired from the University of Akron Law Library and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls where she had served as an Elder. Gladys enjoyed hiking with the Strollers, taking excursions with the Falls Travel Club as well as participating in dinners with the Grandmothers' Club. She also had a green thumb for gardening. Most importantly, her family meant everything to her. Preceded in death by her husband, Dawnie R. Wyant; parents, Peter and Charlotte Helen Mathis; and sisters Wanda (Raymond) Pennington and Lillian (Glenn) Shannon. Gladys is survived by her daughters, Charlotte (Richard) Onderick and Cynthia (Joseph) Brunette; grandchildren, Mark (Lori) Onderick, Melinda (Josh) Barrett, Laurie (Jay) Recker, Matthew Brunette, and Christopher Brunette; twelve great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty (James) Nance, Shirley (Cledys) Henry, Garland (Anne) Mathis, and Ronald (Betty) Mathis; and many other loving family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at Stow-Glen Retirement Village, Cedar Hall Community Room, 4285 Kent Road, Stow on Saturday, March 10 at 10:30 AM. Burial Clinton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675, United Service Organizations (USO), P.O. Box 96860, Washington, DC 20077 or a favorite charity.

Charlotte, So sorry for your loss of your Mom. I sent a card to the Stow address I had but it came back to me so I hope you view this so you know I was thinking of you. I remember your Mom coming to visit at my house one time and we talked how she had same name as my Aunt Gladys Marie. Bob & I are still living at same place. Hope you are doing Ok.
