Shirley's husband Larry Jackson was my father's cousin. I got to know Shirley shortly after she moved to Oakwood Village when I would visit her in her apartment. We shared stories about our cats as well as photos and stories of our extended family. She was always a pleasure to talk to. She was gracious, well-informed about world events, brights and kind. I will miss her and our visits very much.

Shirley Jackson. What a special lady. I was so fortunate to have her for my Godmother for all of my life. She never forgot an occasion, no matter how small, for me or my children. I am so thankful that she and my mom became BFFs so many years ago, and remained close up to the ends of their lives. May they be catching up with each other once again.
To all of Shirley's friends and relatives, I am sorry for your loss. She was an amazing woman.
Like Shirley would always close her envelope, this is SWAK.

We have known Shirley at High Street Church for 12 years and enjoyed her pleasant smile and her ability to see the good in everyone. She loved her cat and we have a copy of her book entitled "Dolly". We will miss Shirley.
