My thoughts and prayers to The Zippe family. I was fortunate to have Ed, as I called him at my 50th class reunion, for my coach in wrestling and football. Always a positive outlook and a great smile. The Russell family last saw Coach Zippe at the memorial service for our mother in October 2016.
We were lucky to have had him in our lives.

I am so sorry to hear of Ed's passing. He was one of my favorite teachers in high school, and I reconnected with him during the past few years at the gym we both went to. He was truly a life-long learner and explorer with an enthusiasm for life. In recent years we shared stories of our beloved grandchildren. He will truly be missed.

Friendly, thoughtful, kind, caring, passionate, introspective, insightful, intelligent, humorous This guest book will run out of digital space before I run out of words to describe Ed. He was a great teacher, but I only got to know him as a friend these last few years. I enjoyed his letters. He was prolific! I will miss you, Ed, but I am glad you are no longer in pain. And I am sure you are looking down and laughing at me because I initially wrote inciteful instead of insightful. Perhaps you were both?
