Dr. Rolando A. Najera, M.D.
Elkton, MD - Dr. Rolando Ayson Najera, M.D., age 83, of Elkton, MD, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017. Born in Batac, Philippines, on March 16, 1934, he was the son of the late Lagrimas and Maria Paz Ayson Najera.
Dr. Najera was a 1956 graduate of University of Santo Tomas, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, and a physician in Elkton for over 45 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and Knights of Columbus, Bishop Becker Council #2427, Elkton. Dr. Najera enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and working in his rose garden.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Margaret "Maggie" Carroll Najera; children, Randy Najera (Caroline), Elkton, MD, Jill Pearce (Chris), Lancaster, PA, and Maria Ritter (Craig), Church Hill, MD; step-children, Anne Marie Evans (Michael), Hunt Valley, MD, and John Sybert (Gina), Rockville, VA; brothers, Largion Najera, Philippines, and Dr. Leo Najera (Philomena), Havre de Grace, MD; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandsons.
In addition to his parents, Dr. Najera was preceded in death by his brother, Nestor Najera.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Church, 454 Bow Street, Elkton, MD. Interment will be in Mt. Aviat Cemetery, Childs, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mt. Aviat Academy, or to Volunteer Fire Company #1 of Chesapeake City, or to Wounded Warrior Project, in care of Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921.

There aren't words to express the feelings that one goes through when loosing a dear beloved family member, friend, or associate. I am fortunate to have worked with both Dr. Najera and Maggie and will treasure those memories. Rest in Peace Dr. Najera. My prayers and love go out to Maggie and their family.

Dr. Najera was a friend and colleague of my father
Dr. Williford Eppes, who left us in 2008. At Christmas time our family would always receive a wonderful box of fruit from the Harry & David's company courtesy of Rolando. I enjoyed that gift enough to continue the tradition with my friends and family. Thank you good Dr. We will see you in the hereafter...
