Howard D. "Franny " Kane, 84, of Claymont, DE, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Cadia Healthcare Riverside.
Born in Wilmington, he was the son of the late Howard A. and Margaret McDonough Kane. Mr. Kane was a member of Holy Rosary Church, was retired from DuPont Co., Newport plant, was a 4th Degree Knight Christopher Council #3182, a member of the Brandywine Club and Fraternal Order of Eagles #74.
Mr. Kane is survived by his daughter, Margaret Mary Iannone and her husband James; grandchildren, Michael and Kristine; sister: Mitzie Troise; several nieces and nephews and his longtime companion, Doris Melczalk and her family. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph, Paul, James, Eugene, Mary, Theresa, Elizabeth, Patsy and Dolores.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 12:30 pm on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont DE, 19703. A viewing will be held from 11 am until 12 pm on Saturday at Gebhart Funeral Home of Claymont, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont DE. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Church.
