James P. Clark, age 67, of Dover, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2017.
Born on July 27, 1949, Jim was the son of the late Walter and Catherine (Lavin) Clark. He was raised in Atlantic City, NJ and was a graduate of Holy Spirit High School. Jim proudly served his country as a member of the Air National Guard for 6 years in Atlantic City. He worked in the retail industry for many years, and most recently served as general manager of the Sears Hardware store in Newark, DE.

He was a longtime member of the New Castle Moose Lodge, VFW, American Legion and the Elks. Above all else, Jim was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend and he will be very dearly missed. "I love you Jim, my heart will ache till we meet again." ~ Loretta
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Walter V. Clark, Jr. and grandson, Timothy J. Desmond. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Loretta M. I will always remember Jim as a Father figure, a proud Poppop, a man who worked hard in retail as a manager, and someone who loved to give advice and enjoyed helping others. Throughout the years, I enjoyed listening to his childhood stories about growing up in Atlantic City, shining shoes as a young boy, enjoying the boardwalk, ocean, and beach. He was taken too soon but from the stories he told me about his life, he definitely lived a full life and enjoyed every bit of it. Jim gave a lot of good advice to myself and my children. Ashley & Zoey enjoyed having him as their Poppop and gained much needed advice about doing well in school and life. We will always remember the advice he gave to us and the good times we spent with him. I know you are in Heaven and no longer feeling pain. Someday we will all be together again and I will be expecting to see your famous unicorn dance :). Jim is now in heaven but lives on in our hearts and minds. St. Patrick's Day will always be celebrated with Jim in mind. We loved Jim and will really miss his presence but know that he is watching over us. Rest in Peace. Love, Jessica
