Judith D. Skorak of New Castle, DE passed away at home in Dover, DE on August 24, 2016. She was 75 years old. She was born in Wilmington, DE on August 26, 1940, the daughter of the late Reuben and Mary McVey. She retired from the Wilmington Trust Company after 25 years of service in the banking industry. Judith enjoyed crocheting, reading, bowling, playing cards, crabbing and fishing and the casinos. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and four brothers, Richard McVey, Donald McVey, Carl McVey and Kenneth McVey.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah McCandlish and her husband Jeff; two grandsons, Justin and Ryan McCandlish; her siblings, Reuben McVey, Jr., Wayne McVey, Doris Crabill, Dorothy Shank, Mary Taunk and Charlene McCoy; and several extended family members.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 11 am in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 12 pm. Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park in Wilmington. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
