Randolph J. "Randy" Rainey
AGE: 49 • Hockessin
Randolph J. "Randy" Rainey, age 49, of Hockessin, DE, passed away unexpectedly on August 10, 2016.
Born in Kingston, PA, Randy was a graduate of Christiana High School Class of 1985, as well as the University of Delaware, where he received a BA degree in Communications and an MBA degree. For the past 20 years, Randy worked for JPMorgan Chase, most recently as an Information Technology Project Manager.
Randy's wife and children were near and dear to his heart. He found many ways to create special one on one time with each of them, so they would know how precious and loved they were by him. He never broke a promise.
In his spare time, Randy enjoyed fishing, boating and golfing. He loved spending time at the beach, especially during frequent family trips to Sea Isle City and annual trips to Myrtle Beach to visit his father.
Randy will be remembered for his love of his family, his amazing strength of character, his loyalty to his friends, his incredible work ethic, and his infectious personality. Still waters run deep, and that is what Randy was. His quiet gentleness concealed a passionate heart for those he loved.
Randy is survived by his wife of 12 years, Marianne H. (Harper) Rainey; his children, Ben, Luke and Hope Rainey; his father, Ronald G. Rainey; his mother, Rosabelle M. Rainey; his brothers, Richard L. Rainey (Julia), Robert A. Rainey (Thao Truong), and Ronald D. Rainey (Margaret); as well as many nieces and nephews.

Words can not express how much I miss my uncle. He was a wonderful man, with lots of compassion. I always looked forward to seeing him during my trips to Delaware as a child. We had a lot of fun fishing, among other activities.

I just learned of Randy's death from my son this evening. We were both so shocked and saddened as he was such a loving and warm uncle and brother in law. His humor and easy going nature made him easy and pleasant to spend time with. I looked at old pictures of him and felt all of his sweetness and kindness coming through from them. He was a good person and one that made my son feel loved and important. I can only imagine the love and devotion his wife and children experienced all these years. My thoughts are with them all. He was quite simply, sweet, and that goes a long way. I am so sorry for your loss.
