HOWARD — Rodney L. Long, 71, of Howard, died Friday, January 15, 2021, at Knox Community Hospital, in Mount Vernon. Rodney was born July 18, 1949, in Delaware, Ohio to Charles Mason Long and Jean Allison (Rhoades) Reisinger.

He graduated from Buckeye Valley High School in Delaware in 1967. He attended the Ohio State University for one year before joining the United States Army.

He married Joyce Fouts on June 2, 1972.

Rodney worked for many years in food distribution, then retired from Matco Tools in Stow Ohio. He was a lifelong Christian, and was an avid classic car collector. The only thing more important to Rodney than his classic car family was his own family.

Rodney will be deeply missed by his wife Joyce; children Trevor (Jessica) Long, and Skilor (Pamella) Long; grandchildren Michael, Connor, and Adalee; sister P.J. Taylor; and brother William Geary.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Tony Long.

I was in the same basic training and advanced infantry training with Rodney at fort Gordan Ga. so sorry to hear of his passing and for the loss you all feel. my deepest condolences , wayne and Karen phelps
