To the Family of Ms. LaPage,

She was a teacher I will never forget; one who pushed me to be the best I could be. I was in her honors Biology course and upset because my grade was not an "A" and feeling sorry for myself. She stopped me in my tracks, changed my mindset and simply said: Learn More and Work Harder!
I learned more and worked harder than ever.

She wrote me a letter years later to thank me for the work I do for the kids in Deming and how she was so proud of me. Her words made me cry and I thanked her for how she helped mold me.

I will never forget her and I am sure she is being used to teach in heaven.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mrs. LaPage and boundless gratitude for her brilliant and inspiring teaching. I took Biology 1 and 2 with her. These were very important to me and provided a solid foundation for some of my subsequent academic and intellectual work. She encouraged my friend, Michael Dominguez, and I to apply to a state-wide high school science event at UNM. She arranged for the trip and accompanied us there as our faculty sponsor. It was a great experience. Finally, she encouraged my interest in the history of science, a field in which I still work.

Thank you for everything, Mrs. LaPage!

With admiration and affection,
