I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of my Aunt Andrea (“Aunt Henry”), my favorite aunt. I will always remember her laughter, her love of dogs, her tremendous talents of sewing and crocheting. I still treasure my Raggedy Ann, as well as the one she made for my Jenna when she was born. And of course my beautiful wedding headpiece. I remember going shopping with her to pick out the materials and then coming back to my house for tea. I was so honored to wear that beautiful veil when I married Tim. I also remember the fun days of us cousins swimming in each others’ pools, having lunch at her house and those giant jars of peanut butter, mustard and ketchup that made me laugh when I was little. And spending the night with Maria.
My mom adored her favorite sister and I remember how she would help
her with crocheting projects and how she would make my mom rip all the stitches out and start again! My mom would be so frustrated but Aunt Andrea knew best.
We all shared so much laughter together, sitting together at the kitchen table and at family picnics— my mom, Aunt Andrea and us cousins, and we always enjoyed being silly together.
I am sad that I didn’t get to see her these past years. But I have still thought of her often and will miss her very much. Rest well, Aunt Andrea.
Love, your niece, Rita
