Arlene E. (Ernst) Palmer
Webster - Sunday, September 9, 2018 passed away at the age of 102. She was born to Wilhelmina and Frederick Ernst on June 20, 1916. Predeceased by her husband, Arthur Thompson Palmer. She leaves her children, Courtney (Walt, predeceased) Loflin, Graydon (Irene) Palmer and Lana (Michael) Kariuk; grandchildren, Brendt (Allyson) Halbert, Kendall (Jason) Payne, Katya (Alfredo) Fuentes, Aaron (Christina) Kariuk, Kristina (Brian) Allerton and Michelle (Marsel) Mriza; great-grandchildren, Rachel Payne, Raleigh Halbert, Viggo Fuentes, Neo Fuentes, Isla Allerton, Violet Allerton and Miles Mriza.
In her early years, she loved being a Girl Scout (especially camping) and horseback riding at the Culver Road Armory. She enjoyed her classes in Italian and Latin, as well as the study of classical piano. Later, she graduated from East High School and furthered her education at RBI.
After marrying Arthur Palmer, the couple moved to a farm in Red Creek, and later moved back to Rochester, where she enjoyed many years as a secretary at General Dynamics and Gleasons.
Her special interests were current events, science and feeding her beloved squirrels and birds. She also had a special affection for dogs. Just mention "Blue Skies" and she would break into song.
We miss that feisty, tough, independent, wonderful woman!
There will be no calling hours and a Memorial Service is planned for a future date. Any donations will be passed on to the Humane Society of Rochester.
