I want to apologize for spelling Dolores' name wrong in the first post. My sister-in-law's caregiver for over a year was Delores and I got so used to writing it like that I automatically typed it wrong.
The service was very nice this morning and I am sure Dolores was pleased. Kari's Words of Remembrance were touching and that sure summed up what her Aunt's life was.
God bless the family.

Dolores and Fred Root were very close friends with our family. We would go to their cottage on the lake every summer many years ago. Dolores was a wonderful lady and very kind. She endured a lot with the tragedies of losing her children at such a young age. Now she is reunited with them.
She is definitely in heaven.

I am so sorry to hear of Deloris' passing. I knew her since around 1968 when I was her supervisor at Rochester Telephone on Henrietta Road called the "Cow Palace" . Every year I would wish her a Happy Birthday on August 25th and also say "only four more months till Christmas"!! And every year since then on that date I would think of her. She was 16 years older than I, and shared a lot about her family. She was a "super mom" to her children. I remember her always getting up earlier than her family to shovel the snow for everyone to get to school or work. She would wind everyone's watches every morning (that's when you had to wind watches to make them run), and did everything for her family. Opening and closing the cottage on Honeoye Lake kept her busy as did all the family get togethers all summer long. I don't know how she did it. She really was a wonderful person. When her son, Bernard, was killed on a motorcycle, her daughter Mary Ann died watching TV, and when Fred died were the most heartbreaking tragedies that one person should not have to go through. I did not get to see her for a very long time, but one Sunday 6 years ago, I went to St. Mary's for 8:30 Sunday Mass and did get to talk with her. Deloris certainly is an angel in heaven and reunited with her Fred, Bernie and Mary Ann. Rest in Peace, sweet Deloris.
