Gregory E. Polisseni

Fairport - January 16, 1970-November 19, 2020

Predeceased by father Eugene R. Polisseni and sister Kimberly M. Polisseni. Survived by his loving mother, his rock, Wanda M. Wyman Polisseni, brother Gary R Polisseni (Lanna), sister Valerie A Polisseni Wilcox (David); nieces and nephews Laura Polisseni, Kimberly Wilcox, Nicholas Polisseni, Tyler Wilcox and Spencer Wilcox; Aunt Eleanor Palmeri, Uncle George and Aunt Joann Wyman, Step Sons Dustin and Andy Cichon and many cousins and friends.

Greg was an accomplished artist, fashion designer, philanthropist and entrepreneur. In early 2013, out of his garage, he created the concept of Artistix, a clothing line based on his paintings. His vision was that when people wore his clothes, they would know they came from a true artist. He found an expression of inner peace through his art. In his abstracts, you can see his battles, his inner struggles and the eye of the hurricane where peace exists. He was just a painter in the woods.

Due to COVID-19, there will be no prior calling Hours. Private Funeral Mass will be held live streamed (http://www.stjohnfairport.org/ ) Tuesday 11AM at St. John of Rochester Church, Fairport. Private Interment Holy Sepulchre.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Kelly for Kids, 8205 Main Street Suite 13, Williamsville NY 14421 or the Halle Polisseni Adoption Center at Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Rd, Fairport, NY 14450

So very very sorry for your loss Mrs. Polisseni. First your beloved daughter and now your very dear and beloved son. Greg and I were FaceBook friends and we shared meaningful comments back and forth because there was nothing phony about him, ever, and I treasured that in him so much. I cannot imagine the pain you are feeling now with this loss, but I promise I will pray for you day and night. I have no doubt Greg is in heaven now at peace with love reunited with his dad and sister. He certainly left his very positive mark on this world through his art and much more just by being his true self. It was so obvious that he loved you as his so dearly beloved mom so very much and felt so devoted to you. Sending you a hug, love and my prayers always! From Meami (Vasile) Craig ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Greg was always very cordial when we chatted. I’ll never forget our first meeting. We were sharing our tattoos with one another. I asked which one hurt the most. He opened his shirt pointed to one on his chest. It was the piece of art done in Los Angelos by Kat VonDam’. I’ve always wanted a tattoo by her. I told him the waiting list is at least a year away. He said he would take me and we’d get right in. I’ve always thought what a wonderful thing to do for a woman that he barely knew.

Greg touched my family in so many ways. He was a personal friend, mentor and family to my children (Brandon, Kaylee and Jennifer Maul) and Uncle Greg to my grandchildren. He not only welcomed them into his life but inspired and challenged them to reach for their dreams. He will be greatly missed but will always hold a special place in all of our hearts.

I didn’t ever get to meet Greg but I worked at Finger Lakes Race Track and watched his mother establish the wonderful Purple Haze Thoroughbred Adoption Center. I found his artist page on my Facebook feed one day and I started to follow it and I was so inspired by his talent, his stories of NYC , where I was born and grew up, and his honest take on life and how he expressed that with no filters. His love for his mother was endearing. I wish I had gotten the opportunity to meet him in person. I as a fellow artist, will always be inspired by his work. Godspeed Greg. I’m sure your father and sister have embraced you and you are together again at last. My sympathies for the loved ones left behind.

During my years as the ED of the National Kidney Foundation, I was so fortunate to have Greg join our Board of Directors. He was a dedicated committee person, working tirelessly on the golf tournaments. He was a strong advocate for kidney patients, and was truly a champion of the underdog. He chaired the marketing committee and with his artistic eye, updated our graphics. We could always count on Greg to follow through. My heart goes out to his family. Greg's legacy lives on in the countless families he impacted through his actions and advocacy.

Greg I did not know personally; he welcomed me into his life sharing his facebook page.
In October I shared our Grandson Kallin's artwork; Kal is 10 and Greg called it awesome.
Greg was a special man...shared his love of art, family,
Especially Mon And love of Jesus
One of his most recently shared projects was Footprints in the Sand...I never saw it finished; that is; only with no footprints. Jesus must have taken Greg straight to Heaven♥
Thank you Greg for sharing ...yourself. special love to mom; Wanda, may the Lord bring you peace; you have brought joy into our family's hearts for many years at Christmas
May God bless each of you
