I can't begin to express the impact that Pete had on my life. Pete not only gave me my first serious career opportunity out of college, but became the most influential mentor, outside of my parents in my life. He challenged me like no one else since in the business world has, and at the same time taught me how to be a compassionate leader, the importance of giving back and how to also make work fun. What was impressive is that Pete was never afraid to challenge himself even in his later business years. During my career with him at Kayex, he constantly was working on finding ways to improve himself, and totally lead by example. He became one of the first to master the early days of business computers, and trail blazed the way for the company into unchartered new markets like China where he challenged himself to become proficient in Chinese. The Chinese once told me that Pete was so popular in China, if he wanted to call a meeting with the leader of China, Deng Xiaoping at the time, he would have been granted it. He was a master storyteller and salesman and I never met a sharper wit than Pete's, always with that infectious smile and laugh of his. Even today, when I am in a challenging business situation, I think to myself, what would Pete do? For me he was much more than a mentor but a life coach and friend whose friendship along with Ruby's was a gift I will always cherish. Pete loved life, loved his family and his friends and is someone who I was truly graced to have known. Something tells me Pete right now is being called upon to be a leader in heaven. My heart goes out to his family, and may you rest in peace my friend.
