I am out of the country and so just heard of Shirley's passing. I was happy to know Shirley for many, many years. We had a lot of good times out on the tennis court. She was always happy with a smile on her face. I shall miss her terribly.

Mrs. Hayden was a kind and loving person and an inspiration to all. She and Mr. Hayden were marvelous people.

My high school development and musical growth began with Mrs. Hayden. I have been out of HS now for over 40 years and have used my music to be a teacher, leader, performer, and still do every week. She had a part of making me who I am! Her and Mr. Hayden were awesome. Whether it was the groups she put together, the theory instruction, the little things she allowed me to do, they all made my HS music experiences a joy to remember. Class of 1971!
