Bill was always a leader. He knew he would follow his mother's profession and advance education as a profession . I know his impact will influence education long into the fiuture. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

Dear Bill's Family,

Bill was one of my Thomas family first cousins; there were lots of us...16 to be exact....and he had the prettiest red hair of everybody!

All seven families, plus Papa and Grandmother, lived in two towns, Gainesville and Denton, just 30 miles apart and we celebrated together often--Christmas, Thanksgiving, Summer Vacation time, Papa's birthday (which was on June 15, always close to Father's Day), and the birthdays and anniversaries of those 7 Thomas siblings; Ira, Clyde, Amy, Ellis, Edna Faye, David, and Betty Jo. What fun we had!

As a youngster I went to his wedding to Janelle and then played with their two beautiful children, Jimmy and Robin. Later, I went to UNT and majored in Elementary Education and was able to visit with Bill on campus in his office and in their home. Thanks to some of his guidance I was an elementary teacher for 26 years in seven states, as we moved around with Monty's career as a Navy pilot.

After marriage we didn't keep in touch very often, usually at a
funeral, but I loved Bill....and I'll miss him.
May you rest in peace, Bill. With sympathy, Vickie Henley Evans
