Maurine Lovejoy
Maurine Lovejoy, 70, of Argyle went to be with her Lord Saturday, August 26, 2017 in Denton, Texas.
Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
A.C. Griffith and Tyler Kilburn will officiate. Pallbearers include Tommy Lovejoy, Benny Shawn Lovejoy, Matthew Smith, Leslie Fortenberry, Truett McLaughlin, and Dale Burks. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Smith, Frank Maxwell, and A.C. Griffith.
Maurine was born March 12, 1947 to James Arnold and Hazel (Truitt) Howard in Decatur, Texas. She graduated from Slidell High School in 1965 where she also played basketball and helped win a State Title in 1963. She married Wayne Lovejoy on June 1, 1968 in Greenwood, Texas. They were married for 44 years until his passing in 2013.
Left behind to cherish her memory is a daughter, Dana Kilburn of Corinth; a son, Weldon Lovejoy and wife Kyla of Justin; a grandson, Tyler Kilburn of Corinth; extended family and a host of life long friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and an infant Wayman Earl Lovejoy.
