This your man was an amazing man. A legend in his own time and our minds. This man touched so many children in their hearts mind body and souls along with some of their parents. The nicknames. The life lessons he would teach us. He always encouraged us to reach for the stars. He is deeply missed in many many many ways and in many hearts. Blessed Be Mr. J. You are now the star of the show. Thank you for sharing this again Mrs. Nobis.

To a man who helped me touch the sky, or at least the gym ceiling... urging me to climb that rope in class, I will always be grateful. You never realize till you grow older, how one person can help push you beyond what you think you are capable of; Mr. J was that type of man. I was never concerned if he'd drop or let me fall, he always was there. Rest easy Mr. J., you are in good hands now.

I'll never forget Mr. J saying "sorry Mr. Curtin, I threw that ball in the wrong place--right in your hands!" after dropping a picture perfect pass during football. And who could forget Field Day? There are so many terrific memories from his gym class at Lawrence Elementary. He will be missed.

I will always have fond memories of Mr. J, who was my gym teacher in the 70s at Lawrence Elementary--and of his wife, then Miss Nobis! I have regaled my own children with tales about them both. I am deeply saddened, but know memories of him will warm all those who knew him for years to come.
