It's been a year and I miss Ann every day. She was bold, creative, witty, and thoughtful. Her memory lives in my heart and in the multiple times I ask myself: What would Ann say? I am grateful I knew her for 30 years and that she graced not only my life but the life of so many others.

Annie was one of my dearest friends in college and then in the decade following. Having lost touch, I was so sad to learn of her sudden passing away. For some time, I have been meaning to get in touch, a lesson to be learned, not to wait. I will always imagine her vibrant smile, sense of fun, and keen friendship. Those memories are a treasure to me and my thoughts are with her many friends and dear family.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of a truly wonderful and great American, Ann Messenger Crampton Opp. I grew up with Ann in West Hartford Conn and remember my earliest memories of Sunday School at St James' Episcopal then Church Choir, YPF, Girl Scout troop 484, Hall High School, Field Hockey after school, the player piano at 18 Concord Street, Mr. Crampton's Morris Minor 1000 which he put his foot through the floor board one Sunday on the way home from church, Girl Scout Sailing Camp on the Cape, counselors at Lake of Isles Boy Scout Camp, Lincoln Dairy and Kottenhoff Drug Store and many other wonderful memories. Rest in Peace dear friend, Annie. Jennifer Fox, Hall High Class, West Hartford and currently living in Oklahoma City.

I grew up with Ann in West Hartford, CT. She was one of my best friends in those formidable years and was, even then, a counselor and sympathetic ear. We have been trying to locate her for some time and to see this obituary was shocking. I send her family my fondest memories and sympathies. We will include her in our memorial movie and honor her greatness at our reunion. I apologize for all the mailings for our reunion. We didn't know.
