Bill touched the lives of so many. I was lucky enough to have known him as a friend, ( father figure) and a colleague. Every time I hear the song Sabor a Mi I think of him. He loved his Latin Music and wow could he ever play it! Bill and I were on the band stand in so many incarnations, Studio Six, Rondo, New Orleans Jazz Gathering and many other side gigs that include a couple of stints with the German Band! Not only was he a great drummer but a good singer. He also taught for CCEIM for several years. During those years our drum program was the strongest!! Bill was always the first to arrive, the last to leave and the one who was always willing to help! I always enjoyed having Bill on our instrument demo days, he was always getting lost,( it makes me laugh every time I think of it) so we set up a plan that he would always follow me. Never a complaint escaped his mouth on those long and frantic days! He just did his job and with zest!! Always the gentleman he would make sure that any woman that he was working with would get to her car safe especially at late night gigs or late classes.

I will miss this divine soul.He enriched my life and the life of everyone he knew. He leaves such a precious legacy in you his family! I am so sorry for your loss, but I know he lives on each and every one of you!! Love to the Watkins and Jones clan!

Thinking of you all and how much Bill loves his family. Hmmm I can hear drums :) Imagine that. Love and Peace to all.
