Joyce - we are without words to express our sympathy for your loss. Dirk was a force and a great friend. We will miss him. Oh, the memories! With love and prayers - Phyllis & Jim Chapin

Dirk and I were partners for many years in two cities and he was one of the most interesting persons I have ever known. The word "raconteur" has been used to describe him and he was so very great at telling stories and interesting anecdotes. He captivated a firm partners' meeting long ago with a presentation that many of us remember thirty years later. He was a fine lawyer and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. My thoughts and prayers go out to Joyce and his family.

Joyce and family, we are so sorry for your loss. What great memories I have of Dirk in our youth. He taught me how to play and lose at five-card stud. Kathy sends her love as I also do, Jim Morley

Dear Joyce: Words cannot convey the shock and sadness I feel. A moment ago Dirk came to mind. I typed in his name and saw the notice. We shared so many good memories starting with our time together at Ft. Sill (where I can tell you first-hand that he missed you very much while awaiting your arrival) to visiting with both of you in Omaha and Denver. Dirk, whether he knew it or not, influenced my decision to go to law school and to spend the next 40 years practicing law. Diane and I were looking forward to seeing both of you again, kicking back, and talking about so many things. We express our deepest sympathy. Ed and Diane Ryan
