Donald Phillip Enright was my father-in-law for over 31 years. Don, Dad, Uncle Don, and Pop was a very loving, caring, and kind man. He welcomed me into his family and allowed me to merry his beautiful daughter, Stephanie. Pop was a wonderful grandfather to our sons, Stephen and Ben. Pop provided support and wisdom to our sons that only a grandfather could do. He was more than a loving father, uncle, and grandfather, he was a very good friend that I will miss dearly!

My Dad was a kind gentle man. He loved his family and supported his family in many ways. He always provided love to all of us and never had an unkind word for anyone. It was my pleasure to help him keep his independence and remain in his house until his final week. He was always concerned for everyone. He never asked for much but rather received joy by giving to others. He will be dearly missed.

My heart is heavy with grief with the passing of my father, but full of thanks for having received his gifts.

I am grateful for the influence he had on me with regard to appreciating the simple things in life; family times, literature, theater, music, nature, and quiet contemplation.

I owe a huge debt to both my mom and dad for helping me follow my dreams; to move to the Northwest, to attend college, to study philosophy and music (with no clear career path in mind), and to marry the love of my life, knowing it meant I would be settling far away from them in Oregon.

Most importantly, I am grateful to both of my parents for giving me a little sister. Stephanie has been the anchor for our family. She helped Dad take care of Mom when she was ill, she filled a void in his life after she died by involving him in the lives of his grandchildren, and finally by doing everything she could to make his final years comfortable and to allow him to say in his humble home until the end.

What I miss most is hanging out at "Club Enright" with my father; listening to music, his stories, and his words of wisdom. I miss him terribly but take comfort in the gifts he gave me.
