Geraldine Laura Leek, 79, of Fruita, CO, passed away January 10, 2017. Gerry was born Geraldine Laura Byrd at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver, CO, on March 8, 1937, to Marguritte and Everett Byrd. She grew up in Denver and graduated from South High School in 1955. She married Frank I. Leek of Golden, CO, on April 2, 1960. She and Frank lived in the Golden area until they retired in 1996 and moved to her family home in Denver. In 2001, they moved to Fruita, CO, where they lived until her passing. Gerry and Frank worked closely together in business and politics throughout her married life. Gerry is survived by Frank and her sister Darlene. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Delbert. Funeral services are scheduled at 11:00 am, January 19, at Woods Mortuary in Golden - with a viewing at 10:30 am. Burial at Ft. Logan National Cemetery will follow at 1:00 pm.
