MISS YOU PAL. And all your frequent critiques of what could be better at Wind Crest.

Carol and I well remember our short three and one half year stay in Palacios. Steve and Frances made us and our daughter Jennifer feel special all the time we were there.

Working for Steve was a great experience. Never a dull moment with him. Always learning something new about hospitals and doctors, or about sailing and sailboats.

We were privileged to see him last at a THA past chairman roundtable meeting and dinner after he relocated to Colorado. He was a delight to be with socially. Always will be my first mentor.

So glad I got to have a final lunch with Steve at Bill Himmelman's ranch at Windcrest. So glad he enjoyed my St. Patrick gatherings over the years. We will miss his many moments of glad grace. Hope the Angels welcomed him to heaven. Dennis Gallagher

A beautiful Texas day on the sailboat, enjoying a great musical, that wonderful smile, his ability to include everyone, and his sage advice are all memories of Steve. He was barely old enough to be my grandfather when I first joined the Matagorda County Hospital District but he mentored me to achieve my best and I am a better person for having him in my life. We had lost touch after he moved from Bay City but he was always in my thought for every business decision I made. He will be missed.
