Gwen was the brilliant and pretty and tall sophisticate in our honors History class. She was singular in many respects but especially to me in that she was brilliant and comfortable with her gifts, even gracious sharing her insight.

Once I dropped off a shared book at her front door where a complete suit of armor stood just outside. As I waited for Gwen to come to the door, I was treated to seeing her mother in the living room beyond playing bass violin while smoking a pipe in a rocking chair.

I never saw Gwen Ashbaugh after high school but forever have identified artsy, casual, gracious intelligence with her.

In the photo she is virtually unchanged from 1968-9.

May family and friends find comfort in knowing that Almighty God and his son Jesus Christ care about you, especially during the loss of someone so dear to you. Please read Jesus loving words found at Matthew 11:28-30
