It's difficult to find words surpassing my siblings description of Aunt Jeanne. So special to so many people. A loving and devoted wife, mother, aunt, sister, grandmother, great aunt and friend. She holds a special place in our hearts and will forever.
During our childhood our parents gave us the choice of opening up one gift of our choosing on Christmas Eve. Without exception we always chose what Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Ray sent us. Always something special from whatever part of the world they were at. I still have and treasure several of those gifts of her heart.
While sad that she is no longer with us, I am relieved that she no longer is dealing with pain.
Come on Aunt Jeanne, Dad's waiting for you to go on a hike with him again after all these years. But you know, he says you gotta keep up.

We will always remember. As a youngster, we were always welcome in her home, and her son Rick was my best friend and cousin. Auntie Jeanne remembered us as well as we grew up, whether she was in Germany or Thailand or Arizona before returning to home town Denver. She was one of the strongest roots in our family tree, keeping family history alive. She was my favorite relative of any generation. Her heart was big as her smile and made ours the better for it. Rest in peace with all our love.

Jeanne, loving sister to my father and classmate/lifelong confidante of my mother, was a devoted aunt I will so miss. For 70 years her cards and calls would bridge any distance. We will remember and honor Great Generation women for their skillful weaving of family, friends, and community, and Jeanne in particular for how she combined a remarkable courage and strength with that caring attentiveness.
