I just found out about Karen's passing so sad. I remember working with her at Frontier Airlines. She was a kind women. I enjoyed talking with her at night. I will miss her.

My husband and I met Karen about 7 years ago at one of her open garden fund raising events. We contacted her in advance to receive permission to bring along my young Service Dog, Luna. Luna had never been "cat socialized" and we viewed this as an amazing opportunity. We had a once in a lifetime experience visiting Karen, her cattery, and her mind blowing garden that sunny July afternoon. Karen encouraged us to purchase some of her heirloom Bearded Iris stock. We have successfully cultivated Karen's Iris and it has multiplied 10 fold over the years. Last summer I divided some stock and shared it this summer with friends and family in CO, PA and VA. We will continue to cultivate and share Karen's legacy.

Luna had a positive cat experience and since that day at Karen's cattery has a fondness for felines that greatly assists in her ability to work for me.

We met when we both worked at Frontier Airlines, about 5 yrs ago. She was always very friendly and a delight to be around! My condolences.

I took the photo of one of Karen's cats rubbing her chin. It was wonderful to see how much she loved her cats and how much they loved her in return.

When they passed on, she placed cat statues throughout her daylIly garden often with their names. And then she painstakingly gave each of her cats (past and present) a digital photo remembrance. It was very touching.

I did not know Karen's husband, altho I saw him once during a plant sale. He was in the basement surrounded by cats. I thought Glenn must have been quite a guy. A devoted husband who loved these cats too. When she spoke of him, you knew it was a special relationship. Karen had not yet mastered some of the digital apps and was pleased when I put together a montage of some of their snap shots.
What an amazing couple they were, devoting their lives to flowers and cats who needed homes.

Also Karen did so much more for other cats at the Cat Care Society.

Lin Mrachek
