My husband Robert and I always enjoyed meeting with LaVonne and Gilbert at various historical association events, remarking how similar our first names were. LaVonne was a very interesting person with a dynamic personality, a person who could hold any listener's attention. I am shocked to learn of her death; she and Gilbert were excellent travelers and shared a wonderful life together. I was hoping to see her again at the coming historical meetings, but I feel certain that I will feel her cheerful spirit being present.

We recently received word from WTHA Board Member Gilbert Carlton that his beloved wife LaVonne passed away last fall. LaVonne and Gilbert have been longtime members and regular attendees to the annual conference.

We will sorely miss her expansive personality and broad smile. She made every conference tour and attended as many sessions as possible in a show of support to presenters. She was a good friend and colleague to us all. We pass along our most sincere condolences to Gilbert and the family.

LaVonne was the Omega State - Colorado State Treasurer, of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International during my term as State President.
She was always professional and a pleasure to work with.
Condolences to Gilbert and her extended family.
