It was a funny thing today mikie... I was walking into the hospital where i work, and there was a guy who looked like you over by the coffee shop. I looked up and he smiled and a tear came to my eye because for a brief moment it reminded me of you and that radiant smile you had. Just wanted to add this to your wall to let you know that you are still on my mind :) It's funny how a bad day i was having got so much better by a smile.. a smile that reminded me of you :) Love ya Mikie!

Dear Michael,

We were there with you on your 33rd birthday, to say hello and clean and share some coffee with you. The day was warm and sunny in sharp contrast to the feelings of loss that remain always.

We have gone on with our living as you would have insisted, although there is a constant feeling of being one man down.

The saving grace for me is the feeling that you are always there urging us on, keeping us going on the hard days, sending us encouragement and inspiration when we need it. And I know you must have a chuckle or two since we are not without our foibles. The knowing of these things helps us.

I am grateful for the times we had and I am grateful to have had you as my son.
I have more respect for my life because of you.

Love & thanks,

Mom
