Dr Norbert Von Osten was my High School Counselor from 1981 to 1984 when I attended Heritage High School in Littleton Colorado.

I can never forget this period as I had just arrived from London, England and found getting use to the change of school system somewhat daunting as well as being homesick.

Dr Von Osten helped me immensely during this time and gave me the encouragement to see through - what was a difficult period for me - during this transition from the UK to the US - and, but for him, I would not have graduated in 1984 as my school in London continuously procrastinated over sending my school grades over. This would have resulted in my not having enough credits to graduate and spending another in year in school. I remember well to this today where we sat in his office and called my school in London, demanded to speak to the Headmaster (Principal) and demanded that they send my records over without further delay. I hardly ever heard him raise his voice or lose his temper for he was a very calm and patience man, but he did that day in the summer of 1984!

I will never forget that, as I don't many other High School Counselors would have picked up that phone. In latter years when Norm would visit me in London or when I was in Denver, we would often reminisce about this and laugh at how he nearly caused an international incident between Heritage High School and Harrow High School.

I just wanted to share this fond memory for this was a man of such good heart and I will miss him greatly - but he lives on forever in my heart and mind.

RIP

I Entered Norbets life late in his life term, i was his caregiver, Immediately we clicked! like a lock and key, the first impression i received from him was his pride of what he stood for, his confidence for what he knew was right by him, and his bravery for even he didn't feel it was right , he always went with it all the way! with all these virtues.. I couldn't help but to Admire him. I asked many questions on his life and relived his past on what he had shared with me with the Military. I also was impressed by his occupation as a teacher, his commitment as a farther, and a husband.I got to witness a wonderful person and enjoyed my chapter of life with him. I am truly thankful that i had gotten to meet this wonderful Man Mr. Norbert Von Olsen!
I will never forget..
