Not a day has gone by since Pats graduation that I haven't said a prayer for you and the girls Janet. My prayer has been a thank you for sweet friends, for healing and peace and that faith would replace your sadness. Keeping you in my prayers. Love and blessings.

A year later and its still hard to believe Pat is gone. I can see him sitting on the back porch laughing and asking me or whoever he was talking with, So how you doing anyway? We miss you Patrick and think of you far more often than even youd believe. Janet has been so strong and youd be damn proud of her and your girls for their accomplishments and determination to live their lives in celebration of yours. We love love you buddy.

I'd ride my bike over the dirt trail and past the school to Pat and Janet's home in Idaho Falls in the late 60's where I was always warmly welcomed. My prayers are up for all of his family.

We met Pat and Janet more than 40 years ago when Pat and I were young journalists at the Idaho Falls (Idaho) Post-Register. We quickly bonded. A couple of fun years later, we went our separate ways: Pat and Janet back to their native Colorado and us back our native Nebraska for grad school and later to Boise, Idaho. We never lost touch, visiting each other when we could. And then, in 1986, we landed in Denver, and for most of the time since 1990 have lived only a five-minute drive from each other in Lakewood. We've watched our children grow up together (our first children, daughters conceived in Idaho Falls, were born just four days apart), our careers end in retirement, and at least some of us turn gray. On July 6, we lost Pat to cancer and our lives have been altered forever but not the love we will continue to have for each other. Safe journey, Pat. We miss you. Love,
Tim and Jacque Burroughs
