Paul and I worked together for many years we shared many laughs and many beers. I think one of the best times we had was bring home the materials for his barn from the dump on county line road in our company cars. My condolences to his family he will be missed by many.

We send our deepest condolences to all the Brettmann family. Paul was our long-time, steadfast neighbor on Piney Creek Circle who was a model for all of us. His was indeed a life well lived. His warmth and friendship shown through in many ways large and small. As usual, he was in great good humor when he climbed up on his horse to help us celebrate at his 80th Birthday Party -- just a few years ago. We'll hold him and his family in our hearts.

Our hearts ache over your loss of your dad, grandpa, and friend. Our love and prayers are for each of you, in this time of grief. Paul was such a lover of life and people, and you are blessed to have many memories of joyful family times together with him. "And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words." 1Thess. 4:13-18

Dear Brettmann family,
Paul was a wonderful friend and neighbor. Piney Creek Circle will not be the same without him. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.
