I express my deepest condolences to Rich's family and friends. Rich was a doctoral student in the CSIS program at UC Denver. Everyone enjoyed his pleasant personality and deep knowledge of his research area. He was always willing to share with fellow students and faculty.

Rich and I had a jovially adversarial relationship: he would give me crap about this or that and I would take a friendly swipe back. But mostly we shared a heart for men's ministry. We worked together on projects over the years; and it would not be fr-fetched to say he was instrumental in me becoming the man of God I am today.

Though our personal lives rarely crossed outside of church, I always welcomed a talk with Rich. And I will forever regret we didn't make time for more cribbage.

May God receive you and keep you til we meet again, Rich.

We are all saddened by the loss of Rich. He always had a smile regardless of how he was feeling. He shared may stories of chess and always had an opinion about the Avalanche :). He was proud of his kids and Grandkids and spoke of you often. May the memory of his smile and love comfort you always.
