Robert and I were law school classmates at Columbia. We clerked together at a law firm in Salt Lake City during the summer of 1985 (around the time when Robert and Liz met); and we attended the same LDS Ward in New York for three years. I'm deeply saddened to learn of Robert's passing. He had a brilliant mind and an even better heart. He was funny, charming, hard working and fiercely dedicated to his wonderful wife and family. He was unique in so many ways. There is, no doubt, a special place in Heaven for Rob. Rest in peace, my friend.

Where I live in Brazil, I received the Fall 2014 BYU/Magazine today, and, after some scanning, turned to page 66, Deaths, and on page 69 was one from my class of 1984, White, Robert Moser. I hoped not.

In 1984, I also was graduated from BYU. We never crossed paths there. I first met Robert at Columbia in the fall of 1984, as both of us were first year law students there. We spent the three years there doing what law students do, and none did it with greater dignity than Robert - short on time? Robert would help. Needed a hand at home? Robert would help. Needed someone to chat with, about this or that? Robert was there. I cannot remember anyone from this period more kind. Condolences to Liz and the lot.

Hey Liz, Don't know if your kids will remember us but we remember your family well. As we go through life there are a few select individuals and families that actually have an impact on your life. You and Robert are two of about a dozen that changed our lives for the better. I smile now as I think way back when you rolled your eyes as you were chasing down your kids after church while Robert was talking to someone else in the hall. There is no other woman that could be Robert's equal. You were and are amazing. I will never forget Robert singing "I Stand All Amazed" in church. He sang it exactly like I think the apostle Peter would. He sang it boldly and from the heart. He sang it his way and modified the tempo to emphasize his feelings of the Savior. And then each time he came to the word 'wonderful' he would up the volume to almost shout it out. It was one of the most joyous testimonies I have ever heard. We are so grateful that you had the extra time together that you did and that your children had the time to know Robert as a parent, but also a friend and teacher. He taught us all much. We love and miss you. Be strong and God Bless.

This saddens me greatly. I just found out about this today. My deepest condolences to Liz and family. I have not seen Robert since the mission field where he was an outstanding example to so many missionaries, including myself. Robert taught me how to place emphasis on keeping my shirt collar ironed to look sharp! Mostly, though, I remember him for his hard work and his testimony of Jesus Christ. He was certainly and exemplary example of Him.
