So sorry for your loss. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times that you shared together. May the underserved kindness of our Heavenly Father provide you with the comfort that you need. (Psalms 94:19)

I have been blessed to have 3 father mentors in my life. Dean is the last of that fabulous trio that shaped my life forever. Little did I know that this gentle, stoic man who first scared me in appearance would be one I longed to see and learn from each day. His wealth of knowledge and talents was second to none and I marveled at every turn how he used them. From the many conversations of sports, the countless family dinners, and many quick visits to the house for a tool, I have vivid images which will always fill my heart everyday.I am fortunate I was able to drive Dean on his many doctors appointments in his last year. Those private conversations cannot be cherished enough as he always spoke freely about family, life, and his philosophy of the world,Most of all, I cherish that everyday I walk in my bedroom, I touch and see his handiwork right before my eyes. Dean always did every inch of his time on this earth with grace, dignity, and immense detail. I could not be more proud to have him in my life and to carry his legacy forward in the days ahead. The word "family" has deeper dynamics in my life because of Dean.As you rest my dear mentor, we will share you forever each day in our remaining time here. Thank you for richly blessing me in endless ways.

My condolences to the family of Dean. Dean hired me at EMC in 1993, and gave me my start in reinsurance. I remember attending a car show or two he was in, which I know he enjoyed. He was a very kind man, and I know he will be missed by many.

My sincere condolences the the family of Dean McClaflin. Dean was a great mentor to me at EMC. Before setting EMC Re on a profitable path to the future, he had to tackle many problems and deliver difficult messages to the Board. Just as things were turning positive, he turned things over to others. More than a reinsurance professional, however, he was a very kind and supportive boss. Dean had many interests but also many friends and will be greatly missed. We are all heartbroken. What a wonderful person.

I have many wonderful memories of Dean & Marie when they were patients at the dentist office where I worked. Such great people & I'm so sorry for the McClaflin family's loss.
