Penny was one of the nicest people I've ever met. She and her husband, Larry, loved their standard dachshund, Ranger, and through their work with him, they put several titles on him. They were actively involved with the dog show world for years and were members of the Des Moines Kennel Club and the Des Moines Obedience Training Club. Penny and Larry both played instrumental roles in getting the Central Iowa Dachshund Club established and accepted by AKC. Penny was our club president for several years. I'm sure there are countless people in the dog show world who knew them and will miss them. Penny always greeted people with a smile, even when she had health issues. She was a very caring person. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to know her. She, Larry, and Ranger are all together again now.

I met Penny and Larry when I joined the Des Moines Kennel Club. They were always so friendly and helpful to newcomers. And regardless of the situation Penny always responded with a smile..both on her face and in her eyes! Dog shows will continue to be different without her! May she and Larry rest together in God's loving arms!

I will miss Penny very much!! She and Larry were dental patients for years and they were always a delight to see. There was no sweeter Lady than this one. No matter what her troubles, she was always upbeat and very funny. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and people who's lives she touched.
