Gordon and Fern Bruce Bruce McKinnon were my Aunt and Uncle. They lived their married lives in Spencer, Iowa, 60 miles from Worthington, MN where I lived with my parents, Glen (Gordon's brother) and Virginia) -- from age 11 until I graduated from high school at 18. At least twice a year, our families (including a third brother, John Wallace McKinnon from Omaha and his family) would meet for a day and occasionally additional time at lake Okoboji -- often on Holidays (e.g., Christmas, Thanksgiving, birthdays). Fern always went out of her way to include me in their lives (toys, playing with neighbors, events, church, meals, etc). I enjoyed our visits - could not wait to go to their home or for their visit to our home. They came to my graduations (high school, college, and wedding) and gave me presents. Gordon even offered me a job one summer at his theatre (I would have stayed in their home), but another local job prevailed. They were family. I kept up with Fern after Gordon's death (and she with me -- cards) over the years. |||| I just found out about Fern's passing and wanted to convey my heartfelt feelings for a person who I loved, admired, and respected -- a GREAT aunt and friend in my life. Thank you Fern for all that you did for me. It was so appreciated.

May the God of all comfort strengthen the family during this time of deep sorrow. Those who pass on, God keeps in his memory because they are precious in his eyes. My sincerest condolences. (Psalms 116:15)
