Kathy am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. God needed another beautiful Angel.

I remember Ila from my earliest memories in Iowa, at Altoona Christian Church. I remember her poise and presence as well as her sense of humor. She and my Dad, Jim Blaney competed with the Word Jumble daily for years (until Dad moved to Washington). When I told my mom, Helen Blaney, about Ila's passing, she asked me to send her condolences to the whole family. She remembers Ila from church, Eastern Star and family and community gatherings. She spoke of her fondly and with great respect. The Blaney family is thinking of all of you as you remember Ila!

What a great lady Ila was. I don't remember not knowing her! My recollection of her is that she rarely got ruffled, smiled a lot, and seemed to adjust to what was happening. I have a memory of about twenty-seven years ago: I was working at Coach in Seattle, and noticed a man and a woman standing outside the window looking in. It was Ila and Doyle! When they came in to visit, Ila was like a kid who had just played a trick on someone (me!) because I was so surprised to see them so out of context. She will be greatly missed. Prayers to all you Champions.
