Marie Garvey
Des Moines - Marie Amelia Garvey, 102, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018. Services will be held Friday August 3, at 4 pm at Westover Funeral Home. A future burial will take place at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.
Marie was born August 1, 1916, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Edward and Mary (Lang) Rehder. She married John Garvey in Dubuque and together they raised two children.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Ann Garvey of Des Moines, IA; son, Michael (Christine) Garvey of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Tom Polson of Des Moines, Iowa, Patricia Garvey of Las Vegas, NV, Susan Garvey of Las Angeles, CA, Daniel Garvey of Los Angeles, CA, Jackie (Fernando) B; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Serena, Brianne Garvey-Bernal, Jonathan Garvey, and Adalyn is due this August 23rd; and her great great grandchild, Arayna. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, John F. Garvey, father, Edward Rehder, mother, Mary Rehder.
The family will receive friends from 3 - 4 pm prior to service at Westover Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to the ARL. Online condolences will be welcomed at IlesCares.com.
