When I first joined the FAA Michael befriended me during training at Oklahoma City earlier in 2019. We were both of an older generation and had no problem relating to one another considering that almost everyone else in our class was considerably younger. I was a bit discourage with the difficulty involved in the training we were receiving but Michael took me under his wing so to speak and encouraged me continually during that first String of training. We got to see each other again during Strings 2 and 3 and started developing a friendship that we thought would continue throughout our careers with the FAA. The last time I spoke with him was a few weeks before he passed away. We were on a conference call together with the person who would be scheduling our flight training slated for sometime in February or March of 2020. Michael sounded excited and upbeat about the prospect of getting back into a real airplane after a long hiatus from flying since we joined the FAA. Sadly, he will not have that opportunity, at least not in an airplane. He is greatly missed. I think of him often and recall much of the encouragement and great advice he gave me. Wherever you are Michael I wish you clear skies and everlasting tailwinds. Blessings my Friend, always Blessings...

Mike and I went through Pilot Training together at Laughlin AFB. He alsways had a way of making you laugh and smile even in the toughest times of training. I will always consider him a true friend and brother. Fly Safe old Friend! We will all miss you!

I enjoyed flying with Michael at both Ozark Airlines and TWA. He
was a kind and talented person. I remember one layover at Christmas, he brought his guitar and we sang carols all together! R.I.P.
