My sincerest condolences to Alicemary and the extended family on the passing of Gordon Borthwick.I became acquainted with Gordon through his bicycle frame building business.I consider myself fortunate to have known Gordon and that he repaired and customized at least three of my bikes. It was always a treat to visit Gordon in his basement shop on Rainbow Dr.in Marshalltown and to hear of and see his latest projects.Gordon's vast engineering background gave him a "foot up" on the technical aspect of frame building. However,he became a Master Craftsman in the pursuit of evermore elegant and efficient frame designs.Gordon had a true combination of intellectual and manual dexterity. His frames were filet brazed masterpieces. His passion extended to insuring that his customers were fitted and advised on personal weekend rides when they got their completed bicycles in Marshalltown. He remains an example to me to this day.Thank you Gordon, for your commitment to excellence. Most Respectfully,Larry Daniels.

I am sorry to hear about Gordan's passing. I know mom has kept in contact with you and enjoys hearing about your family. My maiden name is Hutchens and I remember babysitting for your children. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
